Bed bolts touque
I have looked in both my service manual and the assembly manual with no mention on the torque values for the bed mounting bolts. Anyone know?
The body shop put both my cab and bed on. The cab was not at the 75 ft/lbs the service manual stated. Tightened them up but just want to be sure the bed is done too. Thanks |

Re: Bed bolts touque
On the 73-87.com Mike Wheelock with a 83 truck did his Around 55ft pounds cab.
I see how much you compress the rubber you do not want to compress the rubbers to much. I know when I did my tighten by hand watched the rubbers compress. I drove for a week put a about 3-5ft pounds more TQ on them. Remember the rubber is part of the damping force if you flatten right out there no damping left any more. |

No clue on numbers. I just tightened mine as much as I could using a 3/4 combo wrench without grunting too much.

This should help go by bolt size and bolt grade. |
