67 CST 2WD 6 lug to 5 lug rear diff conversion
Just purchased a 67 CST. I already have a 71 front K-member to convert to 5 lug disc. Wanting to determine the most cost effective way to change the original 12 bolt rear to 5 lug. Is drilling the flanges to 5 lug and filling holes a bad idea?
I have a set of new 5 lug drums for a 71 and was also wondering if those will fit my 67 12 bolt rear brakes. The brakes are the same part number and size 11" X 2". |

Yes, those drums will work.
Call Moser, they did have a deal on "C" clip axles, $260.00/pair. It's been a while since I've seen that advertised price. My buddie's son ordered a set for his 67 C10 (he lives in Seminole...), few years back, also converting to 5 lug. Not sure if it cast any extra to do the 5 lug 67 deal, but it couldn't be much. Have them install the studs also. Get some new axle bearins and seals also...Hardest (and sloppiest..)part will be getting old axles out, and newbies in. Not knowng what shape your old shoes are in, may need to replace them...if so, gat all new hardware and wheel cylinders, this stuff is NOT expensive... |

The Yukon axles, seals, studs from Jegs are a deal. Drums are in the picture but not included. Rockauto can fix you for those.
$160.46 https://www.jegs.com/i/Yukon-Gear/80...RCK-2/10002/-1 |
