Any solution for heater assm in engine bay?

I've been in the market for an early 60's truck. Just wondering, is there anything that can be done with that big ugly heater box that sticks into the engine compartment besides aftermarket a/c?

Look for hot rod heater.
Like this.
Look on jeg’s And summit racing.
Many different styles.

Should be easy to make a nice block off plate.

That might be better than totally deleting the heat all together. No defrost with that one. My rods rarely get driven on cold days.

The '60-'63's were available with the recirculating heater which is completely inside the cab. And if you can not find the factory block off plates for the deluxe heater, I offer new ones.

I have the heater unit I took out of my 63 when A/C was installed. Unit fits under the dash inside cab. Let me know if your interested.

I'm converting my 65 to the underdash system for the 60-63 trucks.

Anyone have a picture of one of these inside the cab recirculating heaters? Is it well hidden under the dash or does it stick way down?

Don't need A/C much in the north. Would be nice for some days but not for what vintage air costs. Heck I don't even really need the heat but in order to pass the safety test for licencing it has to have defrost.

Couple of pictures. First one when I started restoration. Heater lines on left going through firewall. Second one is heater unit under dash.

Thanks for the picture. Looks okay. I was worried it would hang way down and be more visible.

Found a guy parting out a 65 with the recirculating heater. He's going to pull everything I need including the delete plates.
