4x4 vss with cable speedo
 

I need some help. My truck has had a 6.0 in it for years. Now I’m going to a4l60e from a 700r4. I need a vss that I can use with my cable speedo. I have a samosa digital one now and the best I can get is 3 mph at about 75 mph actual road speed. It has not been and issue but with the new trans I will have to have it working better. Is there something I can change in the programming to help or do I need a better vss sensor?

Do you mean its off 3 mph at 75?..I have a Dakota digital convetor in mine and it's dead on...
If your changing the pulse to a cable I wouldn't think it'd be the vss

My cable speedo reads 75 mph and the ecm sees 3mph.

If you are using a 4l60e behind an LS you need to use the stock VSS and a cable drive convertor.

I have the same issue, inline VSS, CPU sees about 10% of actual speed on mine. Not a problem on drivability but want to solve so I can hook up cruise.

The GM computer is expecting 40 pulses per output shaft resolution, which is 80,000 plus pulses per mile, depending on exact tire size/gear ratio. Most of the aftermarket VSS setups are like 8,000 or 16,000 pulses per mile. You can change the pulses per mile with something like HPTuners, but im not sure if the computer will be happy with numbers that low, never tried it.

I have hptuners. I’m going to attempt to change the ppm around before buying anything else. Hope to have the trans in this weekend. So I’ll let y’all know how things work out. Thanks for the help so far.

I just changed my pcm settings. It does not read super stable but it reads.
