exhaust question
I had to chop my exhaust by the block to put on headers. The pipe on my truck is pretty small diameter and I had planned to take it to the exhaust shop once I get it on the road and pay $$$ to have all new ran.
Someone suggested using a reducer from the headers to the existing exhaust (free). I also have already bought 2.25" mufflers and would need a reducer from it to the exhaust as well. Is this OK just to get it on the road or is this something you guys wouldn't recommend at all? |
Re: exhaust question
That'll work. I have the shop make up two 5' pieces of pipe made up with bell flanges and back to back 45s about 12" back to create an offset. I can rotate them to get over the crossmember and stick mufflers on to drive to the exhaust shop. That's a start for them and they finish the pipes off with whatever bends they need, then run the rest

Re: exhaust question
Reducers are easy to find and it will get you on the road fast.
