Is this a part to our trucks?

It's a stamped piece of about 1/8" steel. I seem to remember something but am falling short.

This is a guess not knowing the scale of the piece but it looks like it might have dressed off a spare tire fender cutout maybe the flange screwed the the running board.

I just don't know why I would have saved it if not for my 48 truck. Brian |

Not for an AD that I know of.

Just thinking, it isn't one of those parts that you saved because you had an idea that you could make something for the truck out of it?

Drill press shield?

Re: Is this a part to our trucks?
Whatever it is, put it on Craigslist under the heading "rat rod" and you'll get three times what it's worth.

First time I'm seeing the flux capacitor shield.
Looks like something I could make into something less interesting. |

That looks like a protective cup similar to what is over the the front spring bushing in a 39 Chevy, shown here by the guy’s knee. The one you show is heavier Brian. The front spring mount on a 39 Chevy is riveted on and, if I remember correctly, had a stamped steel piece over it.
Maybe this is something similar though heavier in construction? Don’t recall one on the AD truck though. |
