Flexplate Question
I have an 03 LQ4 that came out of a Denali Yukon. I assume it had a 4L60 behind it. I am going with a 4L80e. I am changing out converters, so the new one should be a 3 bolt pattern converter from Circle-D. My flexplate only has 3 holes for the converter now. Do I need a different flexplate for the 4L80 or will the one I have work. The plate I have has #TU2824G stamped on it. Thanks

Re: Flexplate Question
you will need a 6.0 flex plate it has 6 bolt holes and the 4l80e converter uses 6

Re: Flexplate Question
The LQ4 is a 6.0. I understand the newer converters for the 80 have the three bolt set up. This is what I am trying to confirm.

Re: Flexplate Question
I called Brian Tooley this morning and they said the Circle-D converter just has 3 bolts instead of the six so I should be fine. He didn't give me a warm fuzzy, but I will order the converter and see what I get to work.

Re: Flexplate Question
Depends on which Circle D converter you are buying. The HP series 278mm only fits the dished 60e style flex plate. The pro converters fit the flat 80e flexplate.

Re: Flexplate Question
It is the 278mm series according to the quote they sent me. So, it should work?

Towards the bottom of the page "ONLY fits the dished LS style flexplate" Sounds like you are good to go. |
