Rear end swap

Probably a silly question but here it goes.

I have a 70 8 lug wide rear end and I’m switching to trailing arms. The rear end I got is the shorter one. Will the early narrow rear fit or do I have to stick with the wide axle?

Going from a Dana to an Eaten. Don’t judge.

You currently have leaf springs? If so, it shouldn't matter. You will have to build a mount for your coil spring.

My current setup is leafs and the rear end I bought was for trailing arms, it is just narrower than my current rear end.

The diff housing will need to have a connection boss for the panhard rod, which controls and helps stabilize the axle action.
Google a few pics of the pan hard rod arrangement and this will make sense.

All good

I’m using the CPP Panhard that connects the trailing arm to the frame.
