If you want to get true ideas in that 80's style, I'd suggest grabbing up a lot sale of Truckin Magazine from the 80's. Just browse some of the covers and you can see the style that you are after all over the place.

Re: 80’s Graphics on Blazers. Show me what you have.
Thats a great idea Blindbug.
Unfortunately I live over in England and chances of finding a lot or joblot of American truck magazines will be slim. However, the guys on here and the otber forums I go on, have shown me loads and as you can see in my post above, thats the direction I like. Any additional postings help me narrow it down more. Of course your suggestion means I now am going to ask exactly that question on some English forums. |

If you are savvy with a computer, you MIGHT be able to fine PDF scans of the Truckin Magazines from that era. People have odd hobbies, and I know I've ran across old magazines in PDF format for other... uh... adult... magazines. Like I said, people have odd hobbies, so it's possible somebody out there has a bunch of scans loaded somewhere on the net, could be worth searching. However, I know that SOMEBODY out there is collecting Truckin Magazine, find that person and maybe they could give you some shots. |
Re: 80’s Graphics on Blazers. Show me what you have.
Thanks to @littlepixel we have a quick photoshop of the truck.
Not entirely the way I want it, but lovely nonetheless. Its as close as I could get to it right now with minimal cash spent. Remember this is not a project. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pselpm8tba.png I will certainly look at other colour combos too. I have a hankering for brown wheels and some autumnal graphics on the white or a beige background. Lets see what transpires. |
Re: 80’s Graphics on Blazers. Show me what you have.
This style I like too.
Except it has to be on white. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psj1xsefid.jpg |
Re: 80’s Graphics on Blazers. Show me what you have.
Obviously not the wheels.
On a white background. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pse3dpglyp.jpg With red or brown stripe. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psgnhhqvuf.jpg Someone suggested red. I dont feel it at all. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psxd09dvv5.png Will stay white. |

Re: 80’s Graphics on Blazers. Show me what you have.
Quick bit of randomness.
The last few weeks at work have been hectic. Culminating on Friday in a marathon training, plractical and learning session. I was up at 04.00 because this sort of thing stresses and kills my head. Headed to Cobham for the day by 07.00 and finished there at 5.45pm All in all, it seems the boss and our trainers are still happy to let me loose amongst our customers in London and outskirts. On the way back I stopped in at Craig and his family, Lorraine was doing steaks and desert, what’s not to like. When I got there, she had just got home from scouts with their daughter and Kyle, their awesome son (I rarely like teenagers) was in the garage, painting up a a contraption Craig had designed and built to change the way the dogs access the house in winter. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psc7e5fdg0.jpg While I was there, Craig worked on getting my 5500 photos from my old mobile and the 2500 onnthe new one into a saved file and will then try create a new super file for my iPhone I left their place at about 9.30 and headed home, before I left, I noticed their daughters Halloween protector was outside her bedroom door. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psjeh9uoro.jpg Weirdly, also on the agenda last night was a chat with Mr Tiki whom I had not chatted with for a few weeks. He was having some family time too. Love the angle grinder inspired brazier http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pso6yjjnet.jpg Back to the Chevy Blazer. The playing with designs continues and a few more came through, I do like bits from ever one I see. Do note, the rear glass has been shortened. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps3nepskut.png http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pse4optxfz.jpg This was the surprise, and I also like the subtle reference to the year of manufacture http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psj5gcwhyq.jpg Yesterday, like most weekends, I had a load of other stuff to do. One of the jobs was to cut back the access to the garage by another two wheel bins worth. Now you can drive up and down that part without hugging the hedge in order to avoid the trees branches that overhanged the drive. Less camouflage but more easy access. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pszn6wgexy.jpg It’s 04.00now, but been chatting to,Dennis since 03.00 He went to a car and Hotrod show and sent me loads of great pics. I will only put this one up and say that he said it was a blast. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psvoo1xkwb.jpg |

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pscth6tv2i.png [/quote] THIS.... Is what I like. It took a while to get there for me, and without all you guys raising opinions and views, it would not have happened. I think it is a bit loud with all that green and the contrast on the white. But why be quiet and retiring when LOUD AND PROUD is all you have left? Let’s see what the collective has to say. I have loved the whole Sinclair Gasoline theme ever since I had my 1963 Ford Taurus Transit van. So this is a good way of rebirhing that idea. Thank you all for adding to this trucks magic. There may be other variations too, like the 76 Union gas station theme with Orange and Blue or others that you feel could work. I think solid colours and no more than three max added to the white, works here. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psa2t77pgz.png Monday....... Back to reality. |
Re: 80’s Graphics on Blazers. Show me what you have.

Re: 80’s Graphics on Blazers. Show me what you have.
Thank you all for the responses so far.
This really is a great community to be part of. Thought I would add the last two renderings in orange. I like this too. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psekchrlm0.png And inverted http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pspins8rkw.png In my opinion Sinclair vs 76 Union orange roof vs last Bigtruk Grey bottom are the SHORTLIST WHATSAMANTODO ?? |
Re: 80’s Graphics on Blazers. Show me what you have.
Sinclair looks best to me, but those are also good choices...especially the top one.

Not trying to go off topic, but I do remember when I was young buying van magazines, has anyone got a picture of a Coca Cola Denim Machine circa 1977.I must have sent a hundred ballots for that contest, but have only seen one in 40 years.
