292 mock up

This is my first post. I hope the picture works. This is my mock up 292 going in my 53 3100. I'm figuring out the adapter from the blower to the plenum.

Re: 292 mock up
OH that is one pretty brute of an engine. How much are you going to have to set it back in the firewall?

My radiator with 3300 cfm electric fan is about 7" thick. I think I can move it forward about 6". I need 7" in front of the crank snout for the serpentine harmonic balancer, crank fired ignition oil pump drive pulley and blower pulley. The 292 is 3" longer than the stock 235. Looks like 5" will do it. I had a mid-shifter kit put on the TKO 600. Behind that I have a frankland quick change rear end with Bicknel torque arm.

Re: 292 mock up
Mick, who was your friend that raced? Sprints or modifieds? I may know him. I've spent my life at the local dirt tracks in our area
|
Re: 292 mock up
Bud VanScoik, probably not spelled right. His dad raced also.He ran modified mostly at Plymouth IN and owns a junk yard in Leesburg IN. He's a country western star now. Buddy Eugene and Claudia. Real big overseas. They do the old school stuff. I used to pit for him sometimes.
