Suburban. Don’t know year
 

Are these Suburbans very common? I was sent these pics by a friend. I was expecting a 1973 4wd but this is an older what appears to be 2wd. Interesting.

I'd jump on it if I was looking for a project.
I have a '67 K/10 Suburban that I need to rebuild already. As far as 'rare' -- I've seen literature stating that only ~166 K/10 [4WD, Half ton] Suburbans were produced in Model Year 1967. Numbers would increase as the production run progressed. Mine had a 454 a PO had shoehorned in. It would pass anything on the road but a gas station.
The 'Barn Doors' are desirable, but I like the lift/tailgate myself. Tailgates are handy for a small gas grill BBQ.
Body appears straight. Dings are not major.
Looks like a '68 C/1500, judging by the presence of side reflector markers and the angle of the leading edge of the hood.
The 3-door set up was only made during the 67-72 run. Any 4-door Subs of the period were custom jobs. [Once saw one in a parking lot ... the guy had faked-in a Door #4, with a phoney outside door handle and painted-on door lines.]
Being a GMC is a plus, they were higher optioned usually.
Looks repainted in yellow. Was it a school bus in a small community once?

Slant nose with marker lights. It should be a 1968.

I was told it was owned by a school. Correct. Can be had pretty reasonably under 500 I think but I prefer 4wd. I think 6 cyl.

If it's still got an L6, it could be a 292. My favorite engine. They can be modified to produce over 200 HP and are 100 lbs lighter than SBCs. They are torque monsters just stock. Not sure about a 250 in that big a chassis.
To make a C truck into a K truck, you pretty much have to find the 4x4 frame and swap the body over. Four wheel drive Subs were rare.
I think the Suburban's 127'' wheelbase was in common with longbed fleetside pickups, but I'm not positive.
With a front winch and a positraction rearend, it would probably go anywhere.
I'd go for it.

Just find a 4x4 chassis and take all the bracketed and put it on that frame, GM was smart for the most part and already drilled all the wholes to make a truck either 4x4 or 2wd, just mattered what they bolted on. Pickup chassis are a little different for the body mounting. They are the same 127 in wheel base but the curves and mounting bracketry are different.
