In the current WDYWOOTW thread in the general section I posted what about putting a sub forum in for NOS parts. It seems it would benefit to separate the new from the used since a lot of times it would be two different classes of builds going on. Just an opinion but curious to see what others think and I was asked to post a poll on it.

I vote for no. I think there are enough sections now that get over looked. It isn't like the parts board moves so fast you can't keep up. Just one more thing for a moderator to watch over. Just put NOS in the title and the parts usually sell themselves.

I agree, There has been a run of nos parts. But like. Too much said they sell themselves with nos in the title.

DONT hide them in a sub-category, I want to see everything that comes on the market. This is one of the best classifieds on the net in all the good ways. Please dont mess up a good thing.

Nope not gonna do it. I like it the way it is. I have never had a problem finding any nos parts or selling them. It's not a problem finding oem used parts. If it ain't broke it don't need fixing! VOTE NO on a SUB Category for NOS PARTS

I am for it because I have missed a couple things the last few weeks because it must have gone multiple pages back within a day because of all the NOS items being listed, there is too many NOS listings and it fills the page daily.

I vote no.

The way it is I can scan one thread for parts. I don't have, want to take time to read through another thread.

People with NOS parts are going to put it in the title. The parts in demand are going to sell quick no matter where they are posted.

No way. This board is so watered down with sub this and sub that its too much. Way to many areas that get barely any looks as it is.

I say tighten the whole place up, course that's just IMO =)

First off, this forum is by far the BEST resource for any truck enthusiast hands down!
I would prefer it stays the way it is. This way we can simultaneously search for NOS and used parts at the same time. Hard to find items tend to sell quickly, (nos or used). Why make it more difficult for people who are searching for both...

just to expand a little on why I even brought this subject up and not to call anyone out because I understand reasoning behind doing it both ways but I copied part of CG's post from the other thread

On one hand I understand if you put one item per ad and it sells pretty quick it gets dropped from the front page pretty quick and it is easier for the seller to keep track of the order of interest, but if the same person has 20 items separately all the sudden half the page is dedicated to just one person.

On the other hand if you put all 20 items in one ad it keeps The main page neater and makes it so those interested in buying from you all in the same ad and it is relatively easy to update the ads with sold as you go. It also allows other members that don't post as much for sale to have better chance at having their ads noticed as well. what i mean is, a lot of times when I am scrolling thru the buy ads and it is loaded with one seller posting individual ads, another person might be placing an ad that gets put in somewhere along the middle of the 10 or 20 singles ads and I find myself totally overlooking it for some reason until the ads get mixed up a day or two later and by that time quite often it has already been sold. Not whining at all just trying to give a different perspective is all.

Being somewhat down with a double hernia tends to make the mind wander which makes you questions things even if there may actually be nothing wrong with the current way it is being done, hence the reason for the poll. Obviously by discussion so far there seems to be quite differing opinions. If not for the other thread I probably would not have even posted anything but since it happened ....What the heck :lol:

I don't know if there is a right or wrong way since both have pros and cons that is why I brought it up for discussion. Sorry for the long post.

First, it aint broke so it doesnt need fixed. Go to other classifieds and you wont find a better one, even on this site. Let it be and stop wining about little things people.

Putting up a poll wont change anything unless it says Admin under your username anyway :lol:

I voted no. I can't imagine a single reason why this would be of benefit. It ain't broke, don't fix it. It's not like there is an endless supply, either. I come from the time when it took searching to find what you need. Now finding parts is so much easier people want to make it lazy easy. If it's worth having it's worth looking for. I see no one having a hard time finding and buying this New Old Stock right up. Usually sells faster than the other parts as it is now. I see setting them apart as only contributing to the already overly inflated prices shooting up all the more which, sorry sellers, is no good for the overall hobby. Only benefit I see is it would be easier to spot the same part being flipped and flipped, which seems to be the majority of the sale activity. How many here selling a New Old Stock part bought it from the dealership? How many bought the parts with the sole purpose of upping the price and reselling? I see no need for any help in this area. Vote NO

As one who buys any NOS parts that I can, I find it exciting having to search for the needle in the haystack. To me, it's part of the excitement. :chevy:

I also vote for no. I like it the way it is. I think this was done with "Member Dealings" and it took me forever to find again.

If there was one thing I would like to see, it would better title descriptions of what you are selling. If it is OE, Aftermarket or NOS should always be listed in title description, in my opinion.

Good question and I am sure it will get mixed answers.
