Hood Ornament ID?
 

This ornament came on a 52 GMC 100 1/2 ton that I bought as a parts truck. Is it original for these trucks?
I'm unsure that I'm going to use it yet but just thought I'd post the question.

From what I've seen this was a dealer installed item. I saw a manual that showed a raging bull for my 53 3100. It seems no one has ever seen one so probably was not produced after the manual was printed. It stated a dealer item. Most dealers offered many and said "what do you like" from my understanding. I searched high and low for the proper one for my 53 and saw conflicting ornaments. IMO a hood ornament is a personal choice. I went with the screaming eagle, I think it was for a 54 but it is seriously cool.

I'm not much of a hood ornament guy I guess. I did think it looked okay on the hood I took it off of. I don't really see me using it on my truck through.
I agree with you, it's more of a novelty thing in a way.
Got a picture of your eagle? I'd like to see some of what some of the guys are running that's using ornaments.

I'm sorry but I can't seem to get it to load. I'm working out of state and can't get an actual photo of it. I tried to download a picture and it is beyond my skills to post it. If you google Chevy screaming eagle hood ornament images it's the one that looks like a delta wing jet. That's the best I can do right now. Sorry.

That's the one I bought for my 53 and from them. Some other sites say different. But I like it so that's good enough for me. I got some flack on a different forum site saying it was the wrong one. Whatever. A friend of mine bought one on ebay, it was cheaper but had some small flaws in the chrome so I bought mine at 40's. It's perfect. Thanks.
