NP205 for TH350 coupler
2 Attachment(s)
Is this an odd coupler for the NP205? The bearing goes on the end where it is small diameter and towards the transmission. I have looked for a vendor that has one with no luck. Unable to find bearing. Would the straight coupler without bearing work? not sure on load on the transmission output shaft. Thanks

Re: NP205 for TH350 coupler
This was common in the early versions. You can use the later coupler without any problems. Wire brush the bearing (if you want to use this style again) and you should see a number on it.

Re: NP205 for TH350 coupler
The one pictured in post 1 is likely the original., not an odd one. Good discussion here with some part #'s, but yes, you can delete the bearing and use the non-stepped coupler no problem.

Re: NP205 for TH350 coupler
There are a couple non-stepped couplers available - but make sure the part is applicable to the 71-72 TH350/NP205 combo - might have to call before ordering online.
Some later applications have a different length coupler. For instance - tech info on this one says it specifically will NOT work with 72 and earlier, incorrect length (4+1/8")" https://torqueking.com/product/30001...pline-coupler/ So that is what you want to avode. These might work, but not sure, length is not listed: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...4aAnDdEALw_wcB https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-GMC-T...-/282603673976 https://www.ebay.com/p/NP-205-Np205-...pler/675688490 |
