lmc / brothers truck parts / lots and lots of online places / even your local napa / car quest / advanced auto / auto zone .

why not polly ?

lots of guys have been noticing the aftermarket rubber stuff is NOT holding up near as god as oem . even some 4x4 guys have failed engine mounts after 2-3 wheeling trips .

i run polly and have had no problems for years .

here is lmc page 167 in the 73-87 truck section catalog http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?Page=167

Ok well if you say they are good enough thats enough for me, i hadnt been sure if they would have enough cushion. But i think ill get them from summit then.

some say you can do mix - n - match on rubber and polly but some say all of 1 no mix - n - match .

the polly is firmer but worth it i think . the replacement engine mount inserts fill 98% of the clamb shell so there is no major droop in them like rubbers . they can be changed with out pulling the engine . just takes some time and good floor jack and length of 2x4 or 4x4 and tilt 1 side up at a time . remove it change it . install and do the other side .

and check that famous auction site . lots of times there cheeper and free shipping unlike other places that make a min price before shipping is free .

Re: Need k10 transmission mounts

Ordered

I forgot that when we put new gaskets on the adaptor plate and and between that the mounts were about 20% condition like obliterated and i might be missing the one "tube " for the bolt
So that might be why my leak is so bad ...last time before i quit driving it the leak was so bad
All the transmssion fluid leaked out in about three hours after driving it to work.

And what is the deal with the mount is that a cab mount my grandad put on?
With how bad of shape the mounts are in would this be the problem why I have a leak? Thanks

double check but you should not be metric bolt for the 2 that hold the adapter to the crossmember . should be 1/2" course thread x 3 1/2 long grade 5 or grd 8 i think was factory . just measured the set on my parts shelf with these same mounts together ready for the next build .

thats a what ever good old grandpa had he used part in that pic . at one time that was a lower retainer cup for a body mount setup .

also that metric 8.8 is basicly the american grd 5 rating or super close .

as to leaks there could be a few problems to look for .

#1 = cracked case on the trans . not good .
#2 = missing or bad square cut o-ring seal on adapter to seal it to the trans case NOT rtv .
#3 = cracked trans to t-case adapter body .
#4 = missing gasket for t-case adapter to t-case its self or just rtv and on some cases its 100% required to use a gasket or it can lead to problem #3 since the gasket makes the bearing end play correct . if no gasket it will break the adapter .

post up a pic of the trans pan and rear of the t-case so we can id them for possible problems or info needed later. looks like a np203 t-case in pics with low mount pto port cover and case iron case .

best to clean the whole area with brake cleaner and let it dry 100% . then fire up the vehicle and top fluids off and let run . look for a leak . if none drive it a little bit and recheck . not to long as to get everything covered in atf again and not find it .

let us know what you find and report back . glad we can help get you going .

Is the np203 not too beyond basic so I could rebuild it if it needs it?
And do you have parts and or parts connections there’s some stuff I need to fix
To make it more family friendly.

Re: Need k10 transmission mounts

203 is a bit weird . i have only stripped them for the front gear reduction box to use with a doubler kit .

there is lots of parts places out there .

also there is a sale section here for wanted and sale parts . lots of traffic so good chance you will get what you need .

and fyi : np203 does NOT use gear oil . it requires 30w motor oil or 10-30 oil i forget .

How does the doubler work vs what I have now? Oh and by the way he had me put 90 in it that’s great

Re: Need k10 transmission mounts

The doubler is the front part of the case a lot of guys put in front of their np205 to gain a super low 4x4. Good for crawling. Takes 10w30 and supposed to change it I think every 3rd oil change on the motor.
