Any technology changes into springs lifts ride quality? Best riding springs in 2018?

Everyone on here will tell you right off tuff country rides the best.

Does anyone have any experience with BDS vs Skyjacker? Also looking into those two at their 2.5" kits.

Thanks

My truck has 4" Rancho front springs but the biggest difference in ride was when I relocated the front sway bar position to compensate for the lift. I also installed procomp mx6 adjustable shocks and ditched the front quad shock setup. Rides a TON better than when I first got it.

Here is a picture of spring lift rates. However, these rates are for 4" lift springs...

This will be going on an 87 1500 short bed 4x4 (V10 model) with a 350 up front, factory bumper, no winch.

Truck is pampered I might go down a logging trail at the worst but I don't rock crawl it etc.

Just looking for a little lift while keeping the best ride possible. I see tuff country does make a 2" EVEN lift most others are 2.5" but I can't find a picture anywhere of that lift to see if it's a true 2" look to it. So, I was leaning towards skyjacker 2.5" or BDS 2.5" lifts and going all springs.

Also, I wondered about getting custom 1.5-2.0 " zero rate blocks made and put them all around. I don't see the harm with them up front if they're 2" or less and part of the leaf pack as a zero rate.

Hope this helps

Those springs ride like a ton of bricks with steel bars for shocks.

If you want to improve the ride of your truck you are going to have spend some money and get a set of Deavers or Alcans. Then put a King 2.5 shock on there.

I have 64" deavers on the back of my K30 and the ride knight and day.

"Those springs" being all the brands I mentioned? all 3?

I will look into those I recall alcans and smaller brands like that being kinda custom springs years ago as you may or may not get 2" you ask for etc. I will look into them again.

Thanks

EDIT: deaver only makes springs for 88 and newer looks like :(

Deaver has been making springs since 1892.

https://deaverspring.com/

They are based in Santa Ana, CA and are the gold standard for leaf springs. They make progressive leaves for off-road trucks.

Those other companies are selling "lift kits" to people that dont know any better; off the shelf lift kits are BS.

Order your springs. Get new ubolts from ORD or DIY4X. Get the lift mocked up and bumped out then measure for shocks. It is not complicated to lift a leaf sprung truck.

True, I will never sell my truck so I'll pay a little extra. Alcan vs deavers? Either better than the other.

Just ask for 2" how do they really pin point giving me 2" over my stock springs

what ever . he said its just a nice driver . i totaly get full custom but the stuff you listed is 3-4x the budget i think he has planned for it .

my self BDS / TUFF COUNTRY / SKY JACKER soft ride in this order .

i have 1 truck with dbd 8" front 4" rear and 4" flip for the total of 8" its real nice for 8" lift springs off the shelf .

my other 2 trucks are 3" or 4" tuff country hd front and block or flip in the rear to level it out . reason for hd is 1 is big block 454 and other is plow truck so the weight of the plow is why i did the hd front . but even with the plow off it it still rides nice .

all my trucks are k30 trucks also .

off road design has custom springs made for them to there specs and guys love them a lot . there not just off the shelf springs from alcan but built to there years and years of specs from tried and true designs they have perfected .
