C 10 in Walking Tall

While being snowed in here in Kernersville, NC I was watching Walking Tall. The story about the Sherriff Buford Pusser. In the movie he is driving a C 10 when he takes his son to BMX track. Was wondering if in real life he owned one. Thought was kind of interesting/neat. Had heard of his story but never watched the movie. Thanks for reading. Hope everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS.

The name is actually "walking tall" with Joe Don Baker as the original actor. Seems like there were three movies. It's been so long I don't remember what Sheriff Pusser drove. I haven't watched those movies in a lot of years.

There’s a few c-10s in the first one, Walking Tall. I’ve never watched the sequels

Here's an old thread. However, I'm not sure this was ever verified. Plus, the truck in the thread was apparently in North Carolina rather than Tennessee.

sorry got name wrong. fixed it now. thx. I cant find anything yet that would verify if he really had one in " real life " or if that's just what they had him driving in the movies. Thanks again for your info.

Next time I see her, I'll ask Buford's granddaughter if he ever had a c-10. I know his Sheriff cars were mostly Mopar. I'll also ask one of local autobody shop owners (who is the local expert on the guy) if he knows anything about one. From what I know about him, he was mostly into fast cars, rather than trucks.

I live in McNairy County about 5 miles from where the old Shamrock Hotel was, and about the same distance from where his wife was shot. They've got a museum in his old house in Adamsville, and another in the Courthouse in downtown Selmer. I teach at the High School in Adamsville, where he lived, his great-grandson is in one of my classes.

Despite the linked thread, his middle name was Hayse.

Not sure what made the car blow up immediately after leaving the road but I guess it's true if it's in a movie.
