NEW - 47-53 Dakota RTX Stock look Gauge System!

5 Attachment(s)
JUST RELEASED - The wait is over! Many have been asking when this system would be released and we think it is GORGEOUS!

1947 - 1953 Chevy / GMC Dakota RTX Gauge System!

Stunning dual-round arrangement features chrome-plated billet aluminum bezels with a decidedly stock look! The OEM-styled 120mph speedometer is not alone; there’s bar-type tachometer nestled inside the sweep, giving you a fully functional instrument system without disturbing the vintage vibe. A single TFT message center brings up additional data for those who need just a little more!

The RTX series is the latest from Dakota Digital, focused on retaining that stock look without sacrificing the late-model features you love. Every effort has been put forth to incorporate OEM design elements regarding the layout, face styling and indicators. A casual glance may dismiss these as original equipment, but once you hit the switch and the LED backlighting comes on in your favorite color scheme, all doubts will be removed.

Starting from scratch, CNC machined housings are filled with electronics designed and built in-house, helping Dakota Digital once again raise the bar for aftermarket instrumentation. The high-definition TFT message centers can be fully configured to display just about any piece of information needed. As you’ve come to expect from Dakota Digital, the RTX series utilizes a central control box to make installation and setup as easy as possible.

This is amazing! While I personally hope you consider making an option available without the TFT screen for those who need just a little less, I sincerely appreciate this offering. I think the advanced design truck community has been needing something like this for a long time and I hope this is a big success for you! It tells me a lot about your company that you are actively looking for ways to meet the needs of the enthusiast community. I’d have bought these in a heartbeat if they were available a few years back.

I dig it. I would like it better if it were 54/55 trucks.

these are really cool with the lighting and configurable display. that tach bar is a little confusing, is that the limit of the tach range or does it go around further?

I wish someone would make gauges that plug into the GM serial output, I like 98-03 donors and even with aftermarket gauges I have to keep the original cluster installed. the serial connection uses it to verify the cluster is installed and will not charge the alt without it. I know guys make CAN BUS gauges, but the serial stuff gets left out.

Shiny

I dunno. I see your point, but.......

I spend a lot of time combing through posts looking for ideas for my truck. I really appreciate seeing stuff that suppliers develop and would never see it in the classifieds.

It could be toned-down a bit, but why discourage suppliers who develop stuff for the AD truck? Let the mods straighten it out.

I bought some original gauges that had been rebuilt and making them work with the LS motor is a PITA. These would have been a breeze and saved a bunch of hassle.

Just my 2 cents

Those gauges look great. I'm glad to see a new product posted here instead of the classifieds.

Their systems do use the OBDII Port to pull info from the data stream. It isa simple plug in module that pulls Speed, Tach, oil, temp, chk engine and more. It is PN# BIM-01-2

I list lots of new products in the vendor section. I would be happy to list them other places but it seems to be a touch subject with some and I just don't want to argue with my keyboard lol!!

Happy Holidays,
Matt

yeah that is super great, but you still have to install the original cluster behind the dash or it will set a check engine (no serial connection to IP) and not let the alternator charge. its not impossible to install the cluster especially when you break it down to just the circuit board, but its just one more thing.

Then it must be tuned out in every LS swap out there?! I have NEVER seen the stock cluster used as well as a system like the Dakota.

it is tuned out. because most LS swaps use hybrid harnesses to exclude the BCM, or use a BCM in conjuction with the stock gauges in late model vehicles.

but what I am doing is transferring the entirety of the 98-03 s10 wiring to an AD, unchanged. I use the stock column and the stock underhood distribution boxes. all stock wiring and the stock drivetrain. it would be a bigger deal and higher cost to program it out. usually I use the stock cluster with extended wiring to put the steppers in the original gauges but its a lot of soldering and the gauges end up pretty fragile. I ordered a con2r set for this current truck and had them program it to work with the stock senders.

something like the OBDII interface would work probably better than my way of isolating the gauge wiring for the new gauges and leaving the skeleton cluster hooked up, but its my only solution right now.

There has to be a LOT of tuners out there that would have a work around for this. However, the way you are converting is not standard and that always requires more work arounds!
