Info on A/C units

Hi, I'm getting ready to buy an aftermarket A/C setup. I could use some input on which brand is the best, longevity and ease of install. Let me know what you all are using.
Thanks, Lane

I put an Old Air unit in from LMC. Not long enough to contribute about longevity. And it was installed when the extreme rust removal was performed. But do know that it presently works real well. The tech support was good as well.

I installed Vintage Air on mine about 10 years ago. Went in without a hitch. Still works great even though the truck sits for most of the year.

I have used Vintage air on 2 different vehicles. The one in my 67 C10 has been in there about 7 years and still works perfect.

I've had a Vintage air in my 57 and was really impressed with it. In my 72, there is an Old Air installed and it is just OK.

I've used Vintage Air 'sure fit' systems twice (69 c10 & 61 Bel Air), and Old Air factory upgrade system on my 65 Bel Air wagon. Both brands performed well. The tech guys at Old Air were good to deal with and very helpful. I have not used tech support at Vintage Air.

Vintage air looks complete and at a good price.

I bought Vintage Air from Matts Classic Bowtie (site supporter)...wonderful experience from Matt and Kim...great group...please check them out before you buy anything elsewhere.

The tru-fit unit itself fits well, is very complete and I expect it to work like it should. My truck is going back together now, but have not finalized AC installation....but many on here have had good luck and service with the VA kits.

Vintage Air customer service however leaves alot to be desired. Upon receipt my evap case mounting nut-sert was broken (QC should have captured), so I had to returned on my dime ($20) with VA saying they would reimburse (but didn't). VA repaired the nut-sert, but in the process, busted the case around the nut-sert...then sent it back to me??? Took forever to get the evap case replaced and then VA expected me to return the old evap case on my dime again(I don't think so)....finally after about 2 months of phone tag and VA repeatedly saying they were sending prepaid shipping labels...I got a Fed Ex label.

I'm currently installing a Restomod Air system. I've been very happy with their customer support. I had an issue with the main case. They emailed me a shipping label and I had a new part in a week. My setup is far from stock though with an LS engine and smooth firewall. I liked that they could customize the system and parts for what I wanted. They also have a lot of black finish options including the ac hose fittings.

Thanks so much for all of the replies. I really appreciate them. This is one of the last major buys for my build.
