Axle and spring parts like shackles
I am going to start buying all the stuff needed for my suspension. The first thing I come across is the Filling station and a few others have spring shackles for like $50 each, so $200 for the four needed two front, two rear.
Then I go to LMC who was AMAZING when we got a bunch of stuff for a C10 truck some time ago at the shop, I mean AMAZING customer service. And they have the shackle kits for $30, does anyone have them are they a good quality? Brian |

Check rock auto prices. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...g+shackle,7484
You have to make sure you are looking at pieces for the correct model though. They mix it all in together. One more thing you might do is take the part number like the Moog number and do a search for that number. I have got some serious deals on Ebay from sellers that buy out warehouses of parts and put the part on Ebay with just the part number and little or no description or what it fits They make the markup they want over what they figure they paid for it and everyone is happy. |
Re: Axle and spring parts like shackles
As an example on the Moog front shackles and bushings Amazon is 47.97 if you have prime while rock auto wants 66.79 https://www.amazon.com/Moog-K150238-.../dp/B071WXQD6P
No deals on those on Ebay this time. |
Re: Axle and spring parts like shackles
My experience has been that rock auto along with NAPA think the shackle kits, spring eye bushings, etc. are the same as the later years which are too wide. springsnthings.com was where I found the correct stuff at a great price.

Re: Axle and spring parts like shackles
I don't think there is that much difference between the Delco and the Moog in this case. As long as you grease them every 1000 miles most of them should last.
I bought a shackle kit and some other pieces from Rock Auto that fit Chevy pickup but i am using on another project a while back and really like the looks of what I got. I use Rock Auto to find a part number a lot of the time. Then see if I can find a deal on that part. I probably saved 300 bucks on my 71 GMC front end rebuild over going to O'Reilly's in town and buying over the counter. |
