Pan Hard Bar - Bend
1 Attachment(s)
Anyone able to bend aftermarket Pan Hard bar to fit around girdle type differential cover. I do not feel confident enough to do on my own.
Thanks in advance for your help. Pappy 2 |
Re: Pan Hard Bar - Bend
The problem you will have is by bending the bar you're making it shorter and you may not have enough adjustment on the threaded end to center the rear in the truck. I'd take that into consideration before bending it.

What he said^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I have had Addco build me 2 custom sway bars over the years, I provided them with a dimensioned drawing and they took it from there. |
Re: Pan Hard Bar - Bend
Are you wanting to bend a bar you already own? Then I agree with RodandRudy. I know CPP sells a prebent bar.

Re: Pan Hard Bar - Bend
I think there is plenty of adjustment to cover the bend. It will take a press to bend it.
Yesterday I was installing that same Super Track Bar on a 67 and for some odd reason the mount on the frame did not align with the one on the trailing arm. I had a stock length adjustable bar on the shelf that used factory mounting, and ended up putting it on. I can't see why it won't work just as well, and with a 5" static drop I see no clearance problems. |
Re: Pan Hard Bar - Bend
A prebent bar would be the way to go if you want to stay with the lower mount.

Re: Pan Hard Bar - Bend
Thanks to all that replied, was not aware anyone made a pre-bent bar for this application, so I guess I will go that route. Anyone need a straight one.
Thank again, Pappy 2 |
Re: Pan Hard Bar - Bend
ECE sells a pre-bent bar as well. It's what I used w/finned polished cover, fit great.

Re: Pan Hard Bar - Bend
Would it be possible to move the mounts back a ways?
