gauge bezel with rear AC and choke?
My suburban has the manual choke option and rear AC. This means my bezel has 4 holes instead of the normal 2 or optional 3.
LMC sells them with three, I'm guessing I'll have to drill another hole unless someone knows where to find one? I could find one used, but mine is in decent shape. I just upgraded the gauges to Dakota Digital ones, so anything less than new will look the same as what I currently have. Also, I'd like to replace the little ID plates (wipers, rear AC, throttle, lights). I can't find those either. Are they just glued on? I found a thread on here about all of the bezel options, but no one in that thread had a 4 hole one. Must be unusual? |
Re: gauge bezel with rear AC and choke?
Can you post a picture of your bezel? I've never seen a 4 hole bezel.

These pictures are from bad angles, but the only ones I can find before I took it all apart.

That is cool. Deluxe knobs. Factory tachometer too! :metal: You should add these to the "Definitive Dash Bezel Thread".

Any idea where to get those little labels? LMC has new knobs and bezels, no labels. At least not that I can find. |
Re: gauge bezel with rear AC and choke?
Try sending a PM to Tbone1964. He rebuilds gauges sets.

OP, you will notice the throttle and rear ac tabs are not part of your bezel. These can be added to any bezel by drilling out the bezel. |

I believe the OP is looking for a source for the labels or tags.

Re: gauge bezel with rear AC and choke?
Yes you have to drill it I did it on mine I have a 1972 C20 3/4 Ton and even tho the 1972 did away with the choke the hole is still in the dash. I sell them on eBay the choke cable i bought a locker full of old parts I have 9 of them left

Re: gauge bezel with rear AC and choke?
for those who have a choke, what do you use that knob for?
I have a LS swap and am debating if I want to hook it up to anything. it's convenient and closer to you than the stereo.. |
Re: gauge bezel with rear AC and choke?
For the later years it was not a choke but a manual throttle to set a higher engine rpm as needed (pto, winching, poor mans cruise control). Manual choke RPO and Throttle control RPO are different.
I use mine when going off road with low range as regular idle speed is sometimes too slow and next gear is too tall. |

I had not thought of winch control, I had seen some k series with off road lights hidden behind the grill, I was thinking about that too. That could be the switch.. I only want to ad lights there if it can look very stock. |
Re: gauge bezel with rear AC and choke?
I can place the hole in the correct location. I have a template from an original 4 hole bezel.
They are fairly rare but do exist. I have seen a 72 C-20 Suburban with this “throttle “ option. Let me know if I can help, Tom |
