tires and rims ?
I have a static lowered 78 and have 235/70/15 on 7 inch rallys and 255/70/15 on 8 inch rallys on the back but I don,t like it. Was wondering if 235,s on the back would look right or would I be making the dia. of the rear tire shorter and look stupid, I,m kinda picky on the right look.

Re: tires and rims ?
Just put them on the back as is. It will give you a good idea to go further.
Years ago I had a C10 dor DD duties, and I had 235/60/15 on all 4 corners. They looked a bit small, but I was trying for the most mpg the truck could do. I just used spacers to push the rear tires out to the edge of the bedside. So it didn't look so bad. Maybe you could use smaller tires, and spacers to dial in the look. |

For the front i would go with a 245/60-15 and on the back a 255/60-15 :smoke:

Re: tires and rims ?
I don,t like the 255,s they are too tall for my pickyness, I can,t run anything lower than a 235/70 on the fr. as it will hit things and I can,t run a 8 inch rim on the fr. They don,t make a 225 anymore ,here anyway and they don,t make a 245/70 which would be nice. I could run a 7 inch ralley on the rear too but I,m a little leary on running a spacer. I just thought the 235 on a 8 inch rim on the rear would look abit shorter in dia. Not much to choose from on 15 inch tires, I like the ralleys and can,t find anything nice in a 17 or 18 inch rim at a reasonable price, everyone has the Boss type 5 spokes. Too picky I guess but is one thing that bugs me and the first thing I notice on other cars. What wheel spacer would you recommend

235/75's would work fine on an 8" truck ralley in the rear. |
Re: tires and rims ?

Re: tires and rims ?
I'm running 235/75/15's all the way around. They look way too small to me.

Re: tires and rims ?
I think they look pretty good...I'm running 255/70/15 all around. I think they are about the same height as the 235/75's.

Re: tires and rims ?
Look fine to me, kinda narrow for my taste ;)

The first number is the section width of the tire(in mm) The second number is the section height. It is a percentage used with the first number. The third number is wheel diameter. 235(width) 70(70% of 235=165.5mm section height) 15(wheel diameter) 255(width) 60(60%of 255=153mm section height) 15(wheel diameter) To answer your first post in this thread, the truck will sit a tad higher in the back with the taller tires, but the tread on the tire will be a little skinnier. |
