WTB: Upper Column Component for Tilt Column

Hey all, I'm on the hunt for the upper "collar" for a 73-83? tilt column. The one on my 77 column is broken and I'm rebuilding it.

Also looking for this bracket:

I don’t get over here often but I am sure I have that part. Do you have better pics with it all alone? $60 shipped.

I probably have the bracket too and if so will include it.

Sorta kinda. It's the upper housing (where the lock tumbler slides into) of a tilt column of any 73-83 truck.

If your gonna be up for a few, I will go look in the bin and see if it’s the same...I feel like there are 2 styles, even of the columns without wipers on the column.

73-83 non-tilt
84-91 tilt
84-91 non-tilt

I think there are 2 styles of 73-82 tilt, one with key retained with screw and one without screw, and I think 83 is changeover for wipers on column.
I do have your part butt it’s slightlu different as key is retained by screw as you can see in this photo...but this style stille has the spring loaded retainer slot too.

Unfortunately the thin metal piece by the turn signal switch is broken out.
Your wiring retainer is shown in this pic too, it’s one with the additional support for the cruise control wire.

I forget how thin and light these things are.

In the late 90’s I parted out about 100 of these trucks, never sold s Column then but had about 8 tilts in my attic, sold those the past couple years, could have had a huge pile of them...

Need any more pics?
I have a tach dash that needs some work for cheap if interested, think it’s early style with amp gauge.

Just checked my email and saw your posts. Thank you for taking the time to take pictures on a Friday night! My column is actually at the column shop and they’re gonna sandblast everything and paint it so I gotta hold out for one that isn’t cracked or broken in any way.

I will add(I rebuild a lot of steering columns) that these upper collars EXACTLY this style could be found in both metal and plastic. When I rebuild these year columns, I prefer the metal upper collars as they can be powder coated with the other pieces

Do you have any columns sitting around for sale?

I believe the collar is the same on most gm cars too.

According to the guy at the column shop, it's also the same in 70s and 80s Dodge vans. However that hasn't made it any easier to find one :jest:

I am sorry, I just saw your response. Can you PM me your phone number on here and we can talk options? I could possibly rebuild one for you. Not sure what your rebuilt shop is charging
