72 intermediate brake line.
So I have most of my brake lines routed and have ran into the rear frame rail line not fitting. It’s too long and it’s my fault as I ordered one for a k10 rather than a blazer. I did this to avoid inline tube as there are some bad threads out there about them. Now I’m wondering if I can get that line without ordering a whole kit. It’s a stainless line. Does any one have a suggestion. I’ve thought about making one but I would have to buy a flare tool for it.
Another issue is my rear soft line does not fit the hard lines. I think the hard lines are 7/16 male while the soft line is 3/8 female. It fits the intermediate line. Not even sure what to do about that. |
Re: 72 intermediate brake line.
Here’s what I found.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rsd-tin7105s I also bought some adapters for the brake lines. Hopefully everything works out when I get the line. |
Re: 72 intermediate brake line.
I got ALL my fuel and brake lines from inline tube and they fit perfectly on my '71... You can probably call them to order just your intermediate line in SS.

Re: 72 intermediate brake line.
I may do that. I just saw summit is a month out to get it. When you hooked up your rear soft line do you remember if the new hardlines fit. The hardlines are 7/16 but the T fitting on the soft line is 3/8. I’m thinking the softline is wrong possibly and the T is permanently part of the soft line. I’m weary about using adapters either for leaks or possibly different pressure. I could be wrong and hopefully it works. I bought my softlines from ORD when I did my lift.

Re: 72 intermediate brake line.
Well my rear axle is a swapped in 14 bolt and i went disc brakes. From the intermediate line i have an ORD soft line, down to inline tube 14 bolt hard lines. The hard lines are for drum brakes however so they were cut a few inches short on each end and reflared to accept soft lines going to the calipers.
