New Doors for a 51” Chevy truck
 

Hello ,

if I want to Buy new Doors for my truck, a 51 model.
Where Can I buy them and who is selling the best Doors that fit good?

I'm going to have to ask what is wrong with your doors you have now that calls for replacement rather than possibly repair?

51 doors are one year by themselves, they are the only door with vent wings and turn down door handles.

Well, I had a Guy that could fix my original Doors, But, he was not that good as he thought..
So he Fu..ct up my Doors now:devil:

I'm thinking that it's either 47/50 or 52/55.1 with no exact 51 doors listed.

Wes at Classic Heartbeat is super picky about what he sells and does send parts to Europe on a regular basis. He isn't going to be the cheapest by any means and is a small operation. http://classicheartbeat.com/47-55.htm

Premier street rods shows the same on the doors https://www.premierstreetrod.com/dep...Cab+Metal.html I don't know about their shipping costs though.

They might be able to come up with a solution that works though as they build new cabs in house from the pieces they sell.

I've got a couple of nice 51 doors but would have to really look them over to see if they were still in the shape they were when I bought them. They are stripped with no windows and no hardware. They are also back in a shed with over a foot of snow around it and on it.

I got in touch with Premier Street rods and their Face book message rep said they could do it but would have to come up with a shipping quote. That might be worth looking into.

You could cut the piece that the vent wing sits on out of the old doors and spot weld them in the new doors if you had to.

I do not keep up with the repo world but have been doing the used parts for a while now. Not sure if a 51 specific door is available in repo. Maybe but not sure. The 51 year doors is kind of a freak year door.

47-50 Doors - One piece side glass with turn down outer handle latch system

51 Door - Vent window style door but tun down handle 47-50 latch

52-54 Doors - Vent window with later style push button outside handle latch

Some truck owners switch to 47-50 Doors on 51 models as they sometimes like the one piece side glass. It is a bolt on. Good luck with your search

I've never bought a reproduction door, but my experience with repo parts is that they take a lot of labor to be usable. I prefer original if I have a choice.
