66 c10 Voltmeter Conversion Final Wiring

Swapped the ammeter with a voltmeter.
One wire should be a 12 volt ignition wire under the dash??
What about the 2nd wire?

Can not get a good photo
Im using the American Autowire Classic set which does not support the ammeter so i converted the ammeter to a voltmeter.

Thinking to the alternator or maybe battery but not sure

If I'm reading you right and you are just installing a voltmeter in place of an ammeter:
I'm 99% positive all you need for a voltmeter is a keyed hot and a ground.

So a 12 volt ignition wire would work?

Yes. 12v ignition and the other wire to ground in most cases.

Tapping into one of the pink wires at the back of the cluster would be the easiest.

Running the positive wire to the accessories terminal on the ignition switch should work
and connecting the negative to any ground (the dash or any grounded part in side the cab) .

All so an accessories terminal on the fuse block would work for the 12 volts.

Like stated above, it's as easy as tapping into a pink wire on the back of the instrument cluster. From the other terminal on the voltmeter, run a wire to a clean ground anywhere close.
The pink wire is 12 volt hot with key on.
I would test the voltmeter on a battery source before installing it to determine which terminal is +.

Have you figured out how to post pictures? It'd be interesting to see how it looks.
