Anyone using ventshades/ rain guards with later style tow mirrors ?
I thought about trying a set for next body style (01-up) .... The ones on my dads 07 look like theres a chance they would fit decent ?? The later style mirrors interfere with the lower front fitment on the correct shades for our trucks... Ive broken one set already attempting to trim to fit. They do not cut/trim well.. They are very brittle ! So what are you guys using ?? Thanks

I have a set on my GMT400 1999 with later style tow mirrors. I’ll try to get a close up pic.

Just a thought, might work, might fail horribly...
Try warming the area to be cut with a heat gun to then try cutting the softened plastic?? |

Thanks guys ! I may see the problem. They didnt look like they would tuck under the mirror mounts. They were not installed that way with the original mirrors so I guess they were installed wrong. The old ones were busted up and I was installing both mirrors and rainguards new at the same time.... I will try this. Thanks for the pics !

Here's a couple pics from my friend's truck, he ran the Weathertech ventshades which install under the rubber, not stuck to the paint. The only issue he ran into was on the leading edge the rubber is small there and the shade popped out a time or two. A small screw into the mirror base fixed that, visible in second pic.
