This is for sale by Copart, who usually hold one of the insurance auction for salvage vehicles here in Phoenix (but they're based in Dallas, I think)

Here it is on Copart's auction site-

https://www.copart.com/lot/31509459

It says on their website that the estimated value is $48K and it can be viewed weekdays 9-6 in Queen Creek.

call that paint "burntina" because it looks like it got burnt. I know they were going for patina, and it doesnt look bad, it just doesnt look like patina.

Get registered to bid but I wouldn't bid on it until the last minutes of the auction.

It looks like an assembled to flip rig as they are still waiting on the title and If I were you I'd ask about that. It may mean that the builder just hasn't received the title back from the state but it could mean that there are some flaming hoops to be jumped though yet.

Thanks for the advice with the title, it's indeed a very interesting question, I'll ask about it

That paint looks like a sanded down guide coat.

It's at 15,200 right now and without knowing all the particulars on what the chassis and drive train is I'd have to think it wouldn't be wise to bid more than that.

Title pending means that they haven't got the title back after it was thrown together to sell and there isn't anything on that truck you can't duplicate for that 15200 or less.

Yes there is: one or two years of grueling labor. If the OP buys this one, he gets to enjoy it right now, and that's worth a lot.

Even at the current bid, that's not a bad deal. I have about $15,000 in my panel truck over a two-year build, I've done ALL the work myself and been as frugal as possible and it's nowhere near as finished as that truck. Now I look back on a really nice finished panel truck I saw on Craigslist for the same price and wonder about the wisdom of my decision to build rather than buy. Prices are constantly rising: I delayed a few weeks in purchasing my seat covers and the price went up $20 - doh!

There's a different pride when you first start/first drive/finish the shakedown and cruise your own truck I'd like to think. Plus look how knowledgable you are about your ride! Having bought a very sweet Apache and now building one... I hope this is true (=

I my motorcycle business I have bought 100's of motorcycles from copart. Every single one had a salvage title.this truck was stolen or damaged beyond repair and was totaled by the insurance company.Remember it will have salvage title, witch may cause a lot of problems

That is something to think about for the guys who are anal about not having a "salvage" title.

According to the one add the truck has about 120 miles since being assembled. For some reason it really looks like one of Rich Romanczuk's Purple Monkey Kustoms trucks out of Florida. It has several things that he used on a regular basis on his trucks in the past including gauges and wheels. If the truck is around Daytona Beach (within about) 50 miles I'd think it was one of his. His trucks normally sit on an 88/later Full size Chevy truck chassis but he has done some S-10 swaps. He has a guy who sells some of them for him and I don't know how that guy runs them through.
