02 Tahoe - change ball joint, now getting ABS light
I changed the lower passenger ball joint and now the ABS light is staying on.
I cleaned up the mounting surface for the sensor to make sure it is seated properly. I have cleaned the connection where it hooks into the harness, but I am still getting it. I assume I need a new sensor. if so, here are a couple of questions
Thanks! |
Re: 02 Tahoe - change ball joint, now getting ABS light
If the wheel bearings are OK and they have less than 150,000 miles on em I'd just replace the sensor.
SKF or Timken wheel bearings are the way to go. Nothing else seems to last other than GM $$$$ parts. If the Timken box says Made in China on it get the SKF. |

Make sure plug on ABS sensor is connected....
Remove positive battery cable for one minute then reattach... Take it for a quick drive...should go out....unless its a bad sensor... |
Re: 02 Tahoe - change ball joint, now getting ABS light
thanks guys. I figured out that I wasn't getting a signal from the ABS sensor.
I have access to a 2005 silverado that will likely become a parts truck (lots of rust). I pulled one frame that and after a short drive, the light is off now! Thanks! |
