I am interested in potentially buying.

But a question first for you, or all forum members.

Was the GMC emblem on all 68-72 GM trucks and Jimmys??????????
Specifically want to know for a 72 GMC Jimmy.

I have a 1972 Jimmy. But the hood has been replaced. It is not the original hood, but it is an OEM, not an aftermarket hood.
There are with no GMC letters/emblems, or even holes for the emblems.
This 2nd hood probably came off a Chevrolet c/k truck or Blazer.

I do want to go with what was GMC Jimmy original. Not a no emblem clean look.

Would appreciate the help.

68 had a different "M" due to the hood slope I believe, 69-72 GMC emblems should all be the same. both trucks and Jimmys
As for all Jimmys having the GMC on the Hood, that I don't know for sure. but no grill had the GMC in them exceot for 1967 so id say all other years had the emblems on the nose of the hood

Thanks for the two reply posts.
So GMC hood letters/emblems it is for me.

But I am concerned about the difference in the hood slope between
68 and 69-72, and thus two different M letters.
I don't know if I have a 68 hood or a 69-72 hood.

Does someone have pictures showing the 2 different hoods?????
So I can compare to the hood I currently have.

Would appreciate the help again from the forum members.

69-72 hoods are almost vertical in the front. 67-68 are laid back at an angle. The shiny truck is a 72.

yup, that patina`d orange bottom pic is a 68. beacause of the hood slope, 67 and 68 both have different grill top bars as well
