1959 Apache 38 Dually Brakes Question
 

Hello, so I'm taking apart the front end of my Apache 38. I've searched for how to convert to disc brakes, but haven't found anything that can work with the Dually set up.

Has anyone else ran into this?

Also, the dually wheel "Extender" that bolts to the drum won't come off. Is it pressed in at the back where the rear bearing rides? Or do I just have some rusty a$$ stuff that can be negotiated loose with force? Has anyone converted from the ball bearings to tapered rollers?

I've attached pics. Thanks in advance for any advice/tips/help.

I need to convert to rollers as well. Part numbers would be great. All I can find is...http://www.classictruck.com/product/...Wheel_Bearings

The drum is for a single wheel so why would the dually adapter not bolt up to the disk?

Farmall -

The inside set of stud bolts are set into the drum, so if I delete the drum, then I'm not seeing where I'd be able to bolt that extender piece for the dually front wheel.

Sweet deal on the bearings. I'll have to shoot them an email to make sure they're right. I've found lots of parts for the 1/2 tons, not a whole lot more on the 1-tons.

There was a guy in Houston making kits. He passed away recently and nobody picked up the pieces. I cant remember the name. There may still be pics or video on the net. The name might have been xxxxx rd. or something like that.

The extender is one piece. It doesn't come off. Push the studs out that hold the drum on and bolt a disc on like Farmall's picture shows.
