5.3LS tank vent

I have a boyds tank and 340 aeromotive pump and i do not have working evap system on my 72 with a 5.3. Question is should i vent the tank to the atmosphere?

im using the stock tank and factory vent on mine...works just fine...just be sure it has some type of filter on it ...and rollover protection
