2003 LQ9, Entropy and Exp. Tank
Trying to figure out if I need to go ahead and run an expansion tank like the factory did on my new Entropy radiator. I went to electric fans, and its a 2003 LQ9 with and new LS radiator from Entropy.
From what I can tell, the cooling system is supposed to run pressurized at the expansion tank, or at least looking at the diagrams it appears thats the way it was originally set up. The expansion tank keeps the motor from getting an air bubble that could hamper the cooling, correct? Any help would be appreciated! |

Ran stock 87 non pressurized tank .... aka stock reservoir.. for 7 years no problem. People have problems when they don't bleed the system from the start.

I'm also using the 81 overflow tank on mine..no issues...

I've been running a OEM overflow tank with an Entropy radiator/Cooling fans myself for about 3 years with my swap. you should be fine.

Re: 2003 LQ9, Entropy and Exp. Tank
My buddy and I knocked out this over flow tank from left over intake tubing we had laying around. I’m running an LS3 with and Entropy Radiator and over flow tank. No issues with temps. Highest I seen was 195*. On a side note run green antifreeze if you run a overflow tank.
