S/S Dumbo D45 Extension Mirrors

5 Attachment(s)
Never seen these before and being a 67-72 truck guy I know zip about them. Seems like a great idea for off and on towing use. Mirrors extend outward from the center of the vertical portion of the elbow total of 8''. Just use a simple hex head wrench for adjustment after initial mounting. True real world glass reflection, does not have the "objects may be closer than they appear " glass. S/S backs are VERY nice with a great shine. One mirror back does have a very small V shaped hairline shallow scratch. Glass is extremely nice with the reflection. Have been mounted at some point judging by the light scuffing at the tube inner end of the elbow but show VERY well. All stainless steel construction to include the hex screws.

Anyone know of these, have a pair or an idea of value? Would use them on my '71 4x4 but wrong style mirrors and mounts. I have the swing out camper mirrors on it. More for the newer square body trucks. Instructions do say for 88-and newer trucks but see no reason why they would not work for the earlier 73-87 trucks with factory Dumbo mirrors. Made by Retrac, a division of Luverne Truck Equipment, Brandon, SD.

weird, I went to their site and they have a boat load of all kinds of mirrors .......except the ones posted. I guess they must not have been very popular. Can't help with true value but if they were mine I would put $100 or best offer on them if I had no use for them

Thanks for the reply and the comments. I also tried looking at their website and came up dry. Thinking like a lot of aftermarket suppliers, they only make items for the more current line of trucks and cars? Guess I will put them on the parts board and see what happens. Thanks for the comments also on the value. A bit more than I thought but then as I mentioned, I'm on the 67-72 end of the world more often, LOL.

Dad always told me once you set the price there is nowhere to go but down although I have twice in my life sold items for way more than I had originally asked. Both persons were really rude & I told them item was no longer for sale. When they contacted me again I doubled the price and actually sold it to them.

I had a buddy needing a set of dumbo mirrors, I actually sold him these as I only had these or a banged up set of regular type. Pretty sure they are factory GM as an option for better towing. Mine were on a 89 V30 4x4 square body.

Didn't think about them being perhaps an optional factory mirror. Would that be as a dealer sold/installed option or perhaps actual factory installed option.
For some one who does just occasional towing think they would be an ideal set up. Do you know if they would work also on the earlier square body trucks with the D45 Dumbo mirrors? Look to be the same to me but no expert on square bodies and newer trucks.

Yes, they should work on any square body door. For sure any that originally had the Dumbo mirrors. Mine were on a old tow truck and would have worked great for that.
