NSS not working
So opposite problem of most - when I did my lq4 swap a while back, everything works but the nss seemed to be bypassed. I can start the truck In any gear, doesn’t need to be in park. Not fun when you didn’t quite have the loose shifter in park and lurch forward when you turn the key!! What did I screw up? Been a while and was staring at the wiring schematic but I’m not sure where I went wrong

Re: NSS not working
Probably recommend starting with what yr truck your swap is in.. can say from experience typing what your saying makes perfect sense to you but to others is nothing but ???
But I'd say fix the loose shifter and figure out the trucks factory safety neutral switch as a ls swap has nothing to do with how it starts in gear with the trucks factory starter wire |
Re: NSS not working
1970. Everything was fine prior to putting in the 02 LQ4 so just assumed it was something I did. To clarify the shifter it’s just the shifter shaft on the pin that’s loose not the shifter mechanism. Either way I’ll dig into that area first thanks

Re: NSS not working
Switch can go bad too, connectors bumped and knocked loose too

Re: NSS not working
Did you use the transmission that was in the truck before the swap are a new over drive transmission? The NSS has to get signal from the transmission to know what gear it's in. Weather it's manually are electronic.:chevy:
