2018 6L80 trans
Need Help! The trans slip yoke (GM) part goes into the back trans and then meets resistance. I've talked to Chevy and two trans shops and no one knows why I would have this situation. It's like there is a spring there or it's building pressure. Left it in overnight with pressure and no leak down. This is a new trans.

Weird... how far past the seal will the slip yoke go in before you get resistance?

Re: 2018 6L80 trans
It goes in about half way and then I can hit it with my hand and get it in until it sounds like it is bottoming out, still with about and inch of shaft showing. I verified it is a 6L80 from a two wheel drive. This is a 1410 yoke and I got a 1350 yoke and the same thing. I have heard of there being a short shaft and a long one, but I went to Chevy and had then run the vin number and it gave me two yokes, same length, one vented and one not vented.
I'm at a loss??? |

Post a pic of the back of the output shaft....it could be the trans is meant for a Camaro...which uses a doughnut style coupling but has a pilot piece sticking out the back of the shaft....
Post the pic of the back end of the trans... There are two spline lengths for 2WD transmissions....long and short See pics :chevy::chevy::chevy: |
