Frame question
 

I own a 68 GMC 1 ton lwb stepside. I want to lower it and give it a smoother ride. Seems like all the suspension parts are for half tons. I know the 1 ton frame is totally different and i am gonna have to change it. My question is do i have to get a 1/2 ton frame only or can i use a 3/4 ton frame
