1985 K5 Blazer CUCV M1009
5 Attachment(s)
I have a 1985 Chevy K5 Blazer M1009 CUCV. This is a military Blazer with the 6.2 Detroit diesel and TH400 transmission. The body is in good condition with mostly surface rust. It only has rust through in the driver kick panel/floor and upper roof corner. It has typical dents and scrapes from military service; I have an extra right fender that goes with it. It has a new fuel lift pump, hoses, and sending unit; new glow plugs and GP solenoid; a new heavy duty starting solenoid; and 2 new Interstate batteries, cables, and Remy starter. It is converted to 12V for ease of parts availability, but easily changed back to the original 24V setup.
The engine fires right up and runs well. The transmission has issues; it is sluggish or won't move at all in gear. I would assume it needs a rebuild. The Toyo ATs are new with zero miles. I have a gallon of either flat tan or flat green single stage Summit brand paint if the buyer wants it. It needs new tailgate glass. I have a complete weather strip kit to go with the truck. I have a title in the last registered owner's name. It took me a while to track it down. Asking $2000. Dropped to $1500 10/30 Thanks for viewing! |
Re: 1985 K5 Blazer CUCV M1009
You might have better luck actually putting the title in your name first.
Buyers are generally weary of title issues, i.e., buying a vehicle from a person who doesn't legally own the truck. In my experience, most states don't recognize ownership unless the title has been transferred to the new owner. I once gave a van to a guy to help him out. BMV closed before we could get there so I went to the bank and had it transferred and notorized. Guy let someone else drive it who got picked up by police. BMV said I was owner until the title was actually transferred to his name. Impound lot had $700 fees by the time I found out. Luckily the owner cut me a break and let me get new title issued in my name and took the van for fees owed. I'd never even consider a title not in the sellers name and I'm sure I'm not alone. Hope this helps you in selling. |

Thanks for the advice.
I bought the truck 3 years ago to use for parts. The PO never got a title, so there was no title with the sale. I got the truck running, decided not to cut it up after all, and tracked down the title. In order to get it registered, I'd also have to insure it and with my current moving plans, I have no desire to spend money to register or insure the truck. If I need to change the wording of my post to list the truck for parts only, I can. |

No, I'm afraid not. With our temperatures right now, I'd love to relocate somewhere it didn't stay summer for 10 months straight though.

I dropped the price locally to $1500. My next move is Ebay but I'll give this a shot first.
