GEN V LT 1 Swap Questions

1 Attachment(s)
So I have a 69' C10 with a SBC 400 that just started knocking (Now she is parked until I get this research done).

I want to see if anyone here has made THE GEN V LT1 swap yet and if so do you have any pointers before I make the jump. My main CONCERN now is fitment with the frame and stock crossmember.

I am looking into my options for a GEN V LT1 as the replacement for the current knocking engine. I've found a couple places to purchase the LT1 with the 8L90E and wire harness pretty much starts on the pallet. I've made lots of visits to the Junkyard to try and find something I can pull myself with no luck. Most of what I have read is if you can get the GEN V with all original equipment to prevent headaches.

Thanks for any help or info you have to offer.

These threads came from this forum, from the main forum page look for “engine and drivetrain” then the “LSx swap” subsection. I’m sure there are other threads for LT stuff in there.
