72 K10 "Therapy"
5 Attachment(s)
Hi guys, I've been a long time lurker but thought I'd finally start a build thread of my current project. I've had this short bed 4x4 for 15 years. It was t-boned & rusty. I happened upon an a/c cab so I thought why not.

Found a pretty decent a/c truck to use for parts.
I didn't have a nice short bed so I decided to give it a shot shortening the long bed. Cut weld, metal finish bam, short bedside |

Before I put any of the pieces on they are sandblasted or sanded the best I can to strip off the e-coat, metal prep sprayed on & coated with POR15. Just trying to prevent rust best I can. If you guys have a better suggestion I'd love to hear how you address this.

The cab corner wasn't quite straight so I moved the flange & got it coated ready weld in place.

The driver's door had been wrapped around the fender so had a little bit to straighten out the best I could. Also had 20 something holes to fill. Not sure how many mirrors were put on it but must've been a lot.
I also tried to straighten the curve at the front of the door. They all have a roll to go under the fender. May be interesting getting the fender to match the door but not contact the fender when opened. |

Nice work.

After getting the gas filler welded in I started getting some of the gap & panel match sorted out.
Cut most of the way from the drip rail to the rocker after getting the edge of the door straight. Filed straight then tig welded the filed spots & then more filing. I also had to make a relief cut in the cab corner to get it sitting right. |
