Lord help me I just bought this off a FB ad almost 3000 miles away. Never done that before but I got excited and pulled the trigger. 283, 3spd, still 6 lug drum, and lowered with new springs.

Great find!
Is 3-speed on the floor stock? I've never seen / heard of that, but it is very cool. What type of transmission is it (muncie? saginaw?) |

So you’re going to fly out and drive it back right?

Nice find, that's a pretty short spid!

Nice find and that SPID rivals my 67 for shortness.
Gotta love Confederate flag on the front bumper. Leftovers from another time right there. I will say this thread is worthless until I see some photos of it in your driveway after a cleanup. |

Still waiting for a shipper to pick up the posted haul. I'm getting antsy.

Driver just called me from Butte. It will be delivered tomorrow. He said "Hard to find them that clean" so I'm hopeful it's as good as the buyer said.

Congrats on the purchase, ...I did the same recently (twice), and in both cases, I was very lucky, the trucks were as described.
Keep us posted, I'm sure it'll be fine :) |
Re: Back in the 67-72 game, 67 C10 SWB
I did that once , but it was from a respected member on here and the truck was exactly as described . And I would do it again .

The kick panels and bottom of the inner passenger door skin are rusted thru which I didn't know about. The floor is awful thin inboard the rockers. It also may have evidence of some rust repair a long long time ago. I saw what looks like a weld bead on the cab supports under the grime. It definitely needs attention as it's been in a barn for years. Sticky or inop windows, cracked windshield, dry rubber, loud exhaust, sloppy steering box, worn out shifter, ...but it's pretty straight and the rust is limited to the bed floor and around the rockers and kick panels. Fenders, bed sides, cab corners, and roof are solid. Appears to have the original body panels, and goes down the road surprisingly well. Seems like alot to pay for an old truck without upgrades and too short front springs but it's a legit V8 67 swb. Overall it's got the look so yea I'm happy. I forgot how terrible those base spring and burlap seats are! Lol

Looks to be everything it was advertised as! Congrats! My wife banned me from buying sight unseen after I had an 86 vette show up. The pictures must have been from years ago while the car sat under a stand of pine trees for half a decade. Lost my butt on that deal!

Did the same as you. Bought a truck off Craigslist in Phoenix, AZ and had it delivered to Buffalo, NY. About 2300 miles away. Turned out to be a great experience, great deal and the truck was everything I could've hoped for. Now it's blown apart going through a total custom restoration. It was solid and original sheet metal. Good luck with yours.
