Yes! You don't have to remove anything to take the connector off the back. Just take a small screw driver and pry the 2 prongs out of the holes.:chevy:

Something is loose on the back of mine ...does the front bezel tighten it up or the piece on the back?must be a bad connection somewhere sometimes it won’t start unless I wriggle the back of it around.

You can twist the barrel like Doc stated in the link but it want come completely apart unless the cylinder is removed. You need to take the plastic wire connector off and twist it back together then take the cylinder out like you want to begin with then twist it off.:chevy:

You need a new ignition switch if you have to wiggle the key around. All the rest is just mechanical mounting hardware. The contacts inside the switch carry quite a bit of current, especially on the start circuit. If you can find it there in OZ, go ahead and replace the lock cylinder while you're at it. Having different keys for the door and ignition prevents people from using a slide hammer to remove a door lock cylinder and quickly duping a key and then driving your prize away. It's really just a delaying tactic, because if someone really wants your truck, they're going to get it. It is possible that the plug is the problem, but you can inspect that once you pop it off.

Those things can be a real PAIN when they are worn out. I had to spray WD40 inside my old one to get it to separate from the lock cylinder housing.
