66 c10 rear drum brake hose fitting - 7/16-20? Trouble with t fitting

1 Attachment(s)
Im having trouble with a rear brake hose and running 1/4 inch brake lines to the rear drums. What I bought as a rear brake line has a connection of 7/16 but unfortunately the thread pitch is 7/16-20 on the hose male end and not 7/16-24 as the t fitting female end has.

Whats the right way to solve this?

Cobble a few fittings to eventually get a 7/16-20 for the hose to fit?

Or is there another brake hose that has a 7/16-24 male end and a 3/8-24 female end?

Here is the hose I have

Do you have the correct T fitting? I bought a brake line from Rock auto and it fit fine in my stock T fitting. It should be 1/4 inlet with two 3/16 outlets (both of those are brake line diameters, not threads). I will try to find the receipt and see if it was the same one.

Thanks CJ, I was trying to use one I bought that has 7/16-24 on every port of the T. I have the original as well and it has 7/16-20 on one side and 3/8-24 on the other 2 sides. I tried looking for fittings for the 1/4 inch line that will go into the 2 female 3/8-24 ports but didnt. Is there one?

For the 2 lines that connect from the T to the drums, are those meant to be 3/16? I have 1/4 inch line from the prop valve to the rear to the hose that will connect to the T on the rear axle. Seems odd to step down to 3/16 but I am having trouble with the right fittings if I keep 1/4 to the drums.

I usually go behind the counter at Oreiley and look thru their bins of fittings until I find what I need. There is a fitting for virtually any combination (except whatever junk I am usually working on).

Depending on who/what has been done to your truck there is no telling. There could even be a mix of metric and SAE. I would take your hose and the short side brake line and go to the parts store until I found something.

Thanks CJ. I am doing a full replacement of all the brake system. Been buying coils of 3/16 and 1/4 and all the fittings. I have been to all but Napa of the box stores and they let me hang out at the end cap in the back and look through all the fittings. Like your experience, the junk Im needing isnt there hanging on a card.

I checked just now with inline tube online and was told that it was a common factory set up for 1/4 to the hose and T and then 3/16 across the axle to the drums, so thats what I'll be doing.

Just seemed strange that it reaches the T and then a smaller diameter line takes over. The T fitting at that 3/8-24 size makes it a best fit for the 3/16 line since I cant find a single 1/4 line fitting that threads into a 3/8-24. Adapters would have to be used..even to the cylinders on the drums which are also 3/8-24.
