1960 GMC door glass with metal trim
So, my door glass (that I am replacing) has metal trim around it. I would like to keep the trim when I install the new glass.
Is it the same glass as the non-trimmed glass? It seems like it might be, but with larger tracks and felt seals on the doors. Is my assumption correct? Thanks! Also, I'm talking about the large glass, not the vent windows. |

I think the metal framed windows were the older type of lamintated safety glass and non-framed windows were tempered glass

My framed drivers side is cracked now. I like the look of the frame can I buy the glass from Classic or LMC and just re-install the frame around it?

Re: 1960 GMC door glass with metal trim
I guess my original question was, can I buy the non-framed glass from LMC and put the frames around them?
The answer appears to be yes, since I went ahead and got them. The non-framed glass is exactly the same size as the framed glass. The difference in the over all size (glass + frame) is accounted for in the thickness of the felted channels that are installed into the door, that the window rides and seals against. |
