Radiator/Shroud Mount Questions

OK; just bought myself an '85 C10 short bed; it's a bit rough, but sure worth bringing it back. Now, among the things the previous owner did was to pull the radiator, and install an aluminum one with dual electric fans. Now, some folks will think I'm crazy, but I want to go back to a regular fan, clutch, radiator and shroud. The only piece I have is the shroud itself; all the rest had been tossed. I've figured out some of this, but have two questions: 1) on an '85, what actually holds the radiator in place - brackets or a top plate; and, 2) what does the shroud actually attach to, top and bottom?

Thanks for any help...

Re: Radiator/Shroud Mount Questions

This diagram from LMC should help a lot. Notice that there are two types of upper brackets (#10 and #11), for different height radiators. The #9 cushions are used between upper brackets and radiator. They also sit on the frame crossmember to support the radiator.

Re: Radiator/Shroud Mount Questions

Side note you will need 4 studs with nuts @ pump pulley (or bolts & nuts) clutch & clutch fan 4 bolts & nuts for the fan to clutch. There is many types lengths clutches shafts and spacers. You need the fan blades to be between 1/4 to 1/2 way in the shroud work the best.
As said mounts for the rad here more info..http://bowtieguy.proboards.com/threa...nting-brackets
