Paint code for Ivory white?
I was wanting to pick up some spray cans to paint the bumper & grill. Can someone please tell me the paint code for the proper shade of white? Thanks

Re: Paint code for Ivory white?
Ivory (off-white) is GM code 526, which is DuPont 4195-L or Ditzler 8290.

Re: Paint code for Ivory white?
521 Summit White is the regular white.

Re: Paint code for Ivory white?
In an effort to avoid a little confusion - OP asked about bumper and grill. The white used on the bumper and grill in 67-68 was 526 Off White (Ivory).
All two tone paint schemes in 67-68 (conventional only) used 526 Off White as well. 521 Frost White was only available as a solid body white paint color in 67-68, and then was the only white available period, even in two tone combos, 69-72. |
Re: Paint code for Ivory white?
Would 526 white have also been used as the standard wheel color in 67 and 68 as well? 521 white as the Standard wheel color 69 to 72?

Re: Paint code for Ivory white?
Nope, standard wheel color in 67-68 was silver except for Ks and DRWs, which were black.
(EDIT: just in case you don't read the whole thread - pls see post 12 below. For now, revising this comment to apply to only 68 wheels until we can track down a 67 data book to confirm any wheel color changes that occurred between 67 and 68 model years ;) Above note came from the 68 data book) |

Re: Paint code for Ivory white?
If anyone ever says they are absolutely certain of something in this era of trucks, well, they are usually in for a surprise (so, no, I’m never absolutely certain of something in these trucks). My info came from the 68 data book. Body color was the case for wheels in 66, so maybe that was held over for a year into the new era. Does anyone have a 67 data book they could crosscheck in?

Re: Paint code for Ivory white?
I bought touch up aerosol 2K paint from 66 Auto Color, very handy for touchups and small jobs.
My truck is the 526 Ivory white. https://www.66autocolor.com/touch-up...aint-s/320.htm |

Re: Paint code for Ivory white?
Well, until we track down a 67 data book to confirm what "should" have come from the factory (and there were probably always exceptions) - I probably need to limit my wheel color note above to 68-only. I've seen enough 67s that I have to assume are original with both body color (which I believe is probably the correct answer) as well as a few extremely low mileage 67s that had white wheels (which I'm inclined to believe were replaced despite the low mileage) Anyway - Russ, for your 67 K20 w/split rims, I'm gonna have to hold off on an answer until we can dig up a data book for reference. If you search the threads here 10 times for 67 (specifically) wheel color, you'll get about 8 different answers.
EDIT: FWIW - the 67 sales brochure shows silver/gray-ish, white, and black wheels (but no body color ones). But, the sales brochures are certainly not as reliable a reference as the data book. But considering 67 was the first year for the new body, none of the pictures were holdovers from previous sales brochures (which was common in both the 70 and 72 brochures). |

If you find the standard it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Russ |

Here you go Russ - finally tracked down the difference between 67 and 68 wheel colors.
in 67: solid paint truck: black wheels two tone truck: body color wheels in 68, this changed to: silver wheels, except K and DRW trucks, which were black Hope that helps. 1st pic is 67 db, 2nd pic is 68 db. |
Re: Paint code for Ivory white?
Does anyone have the color name(s) or code(s) for 1972 K20 factory wheel color(s)?
