Drum brake

Does anyone have a photo or diagram from shop manual or other source that shows the brake assembly on a 63 1/2 ton? My son is working on a really nice one with brake issues and need to see what parts are missing. Any help is appreciated! Daryl

This is a great resource:

https://pbase.com/nufsed/drumbrake

it shows a '66, but is basically the same, early years didn't have the self adjuster feature.

They are really simple, but there are some tricks learned only by doing. 'Kinda a lost art now.

Thanks, Heater63. Additional info was helpful. My son would rather do disc coversion but owner wants stock.

63 is more difficult to change to a full disc setup, as the rear drum backing plates are pressed on, not bolted, on the stock axle tubes. Most '63 still run drum brakes on the rear for that reason.
