1966 Steering column to floor seal - help needed

4 Attachment(s)
Getting the firewall ready for the firewall pad and thought I would need to have the steering floor seal installed first and I guess insulated with the sound deadener as well. I looked up the assembly manual for a diagram and the illustration doesnt look like what I have, and I am pretty sure I have a 66. Maybe the plate that bolts the seal to the firewall/floor had some different shapes? I wanted to get the right part(s) ordered to seal it all up right and wanted to ask if the squared off looking seal is the one I need? I hope I have the right plate, I didnt take any photos when I disassembled years back.

Ya the way your holding up the plate? Turn it around, the seal 60-07101 above fits in there just fine.
I guess you'd call it the concave side? or indented side. Faces toward the engine compartment.

Thanks for the quick reply Rocknrod, I'll flip it once I have the seal. Is the seal pretty thick? I had assumed the indented side would have faced inward to press that seal in good. Also, were the plates shaped a few different ways? That illustration has a different look to it. I was looking for hours in the house and garage for the part. I was looking for that illustrated version.

Ya it's about 1/2" or so thick maybe? That illustration is general, maybe (includes) a cab-over or heavy rig. You have the right plate, just flip it left to right (top as shown in your pic stays the same).
