Looking at buying this tilt column, steering wheel is correct not sure about the yellow bowtie, but can anyone tell me if this looks like the right column and what years it may have come from? Any help would be appreciated.

It's a van tilt.

Bottom of it says it's a Van tilt. Truck tilt has a short shaft at the bottom of it.
This one I got from Randy 500 for the 68.:chevy: |

Some of the early ones did not have n/s switches

They’re asking 150, is that worth picking up still?

I've seen them sell here for that or a bit more. However, I've bought a total of 5 or 6 truck, van and motorhome tilts for $50 each at the local salvage yard. There are several threads on how to modify a van tilt to work in a truck.

Here's a picture I've posted before showing the 3 types of original tilts that work in our trucks.

Re: Is this a correct 71,72 tilt?
Like the others have said, it is a van tilt. It would work fine, but there’s no neutral safety switch. So you will have to source one and mount it. Not a huge deal, but something to consider with the pricing of it.
If you can get it cheap, then I’d say go for it. Otherwise hit a junkyard and get an RV version. |
Re: Is this a correct 71,72 tilt?
I’m not really needing one, I’ve got one in my 71, but I figured if it were the real deal truck tilt then I’d snatch it up for 150. I’d be crazy not to I think, but since it’s a can tilt that seems to change it. I appreciate the feedback though, learn something new everyday
